History

All basic information Pascal would happily offer up (perhaps with differing levels of moroseness, depending on his state of drunkenness).Early Years
Pascal is from Gelmorra, and sees no reason to hide that fact. He's very clearly Duskwight, so judgments will land on him regardless. He was raised in the underground city, married to a local gal young, and dreamed of being a great novelist. But noveling doesn't necessarily pay the bills, so he went to the surface to help support his growing family. He worked with the Lancers Guild for a time, ever struggling against poverty as he took what meager jobs he could get. Growing less and less picky about the sort of jobs offered. From within the guild or without.


His Writing Career
Pascal did some sporadic writing in small publications, with chapters or short stories. He was eventually discovered! Though not to write for himself, but as a ghost writer for a popular children's horror author. Surely, this would be a stepping stone!


Midlife Crisis
It wasn't a stepping stone.
He wrote manuscript after manuscript under another man's name (a wealthy Wildwood, no less), growing further and further into despair. Last turn, his daughter left for Limsa to start her career as a culinarian. So he followed her there with the excuse of helping her get settled. He thought perhaps a change in scenery might do him good. That the ocean air might be inspiring and he would start writing again. He found a little room for rent in Wineport (which he didn't realize had no ocean views, and was not particularly close to Limsa). While he did not find much writing inspiration, he did find out he is gay. A fact which he finally shared with his wife recently.

HOOKS

WRITER | Pascal has always had big dreams of being a great novelist. Dreams rarely come to fruition, and his novels published are done under another's name, with an NDA he is somewhat flippant about honouring depending on his state of inebriation.

LANCERS GUILD | Pascal has been a part of the guild for a while. He is known for being a quiet and reliable hand on a job (atypical traits to any who know him outside of work), does his best to not make waves, and will usually keep quiet when remarks derogatory towards Duskwight are made.


GELMORRA | Pascal is from Gelmorra, and lived in a small community called Gévaudan until very recently. Any locals would know his reputation for borrowing gil, drinking more than he ought, and having the sweetest wife.

BROKE | Pascal is broke and deeply, deeply in debt. Some of his creditors are friendly neighbors, though some are ill-advised loan sharks. He plays down how desperate his finances are in the moment, but the reality is he's willing to take most any job he can get currently if it will hold his creditors at bay.
